NYC ballet celebrates Valentino Garavani

Valentino is working on costumes for the New York City Ballet Fall opening

The Italian designer will create the styles for a new ballet set to Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” and a performance of George Balanchine’s “Rubies,” that celebrates the red color, Valentino’s favorite one.

“There is so much beauty in the ballet, the grace, the fluidity,” he said, adding that he’s honored the ballet would “celebrate my work in this way, and I am very passionate about the design of these very special costumes.”

(O estilista Valentino será o criador por trás dos figurinos para a abertura da temporada de outono so New York City Ballet . O designer italiano criará os figurinos para o ballet de Tchaikovsky “Eugene Onegin” e a performance do balé  “rubis”, de George Balanchine, que celebra a cor vermelha, a favorita de Valentino. “Há tanta beleza no ballet, a graça, a fluidez”, disse ele, acrescentando “Estou honrado em ter meu trabalho celebrado pela companhia e em poder criar essas roupas tão especiais.”)
