Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen
Launched in 2011 in Canada, the country of origin of Carly, the song only became successful when it was launched in 2012 out of Canada. It was so successful that appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and his music was sung on Glee, by singers Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson and bands like fun., Big Time Rush, The Saturdays and many others. “Call Me Maybe” was nominated for two Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance On December 11, 2012, “Call Me Maybe” was named Song of the Year of 2012 by MTV.
We Are Young – .fun
The song was recorded in 2011 and was successful on the internet until it was played on Glee and began playing on the radio coming to all of Billboard (most important musical ranking). The music was top in several countries such as: Australia, Austria, Canada, Iceland, Ireland and even in Israel. The song also received Grammy nominations for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Performance Duo / Group Pop.
Somebody That I Used To Know – Gotye
Song about relationships, was launched in Brazil and the United Kingdom in December 2011 and in the U.S. in January 2012 (in Oceania, territory where Gotye is original, was released in July 2011). In addition to the top of the chart, this is the biggest selling single in the history of England, Belgium and the third in Germany and is one of the most digital singles sold worldwide.
Oppa Gangnam Style – Psy
The music of the South Korean PSY made famous by his clip and his choreography. Released on July 15, 2012, entered the singles chart from Gaon Chart (hit parade of Korea) in the first position shortly after launch. He is the most viewed video in the history of YouTube and also the most likes. The song ranked first in Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada and Brazil.
Wide Awake – Katy Perry
The pop singer has relaunched its Teenage Dream CD including some songs. In addition to first place on the charts in Canada, New Zealand, USA and Venezuela, Wide Awake was nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, which will be held on February 10, 2013. He is also on the list of 75 songs eligible for nomination for Best Original Song at the Oscars.
Part Of Me – Katy Perry
Composed in 2010 and purposely (or not) released in 2012 after Katy Perry have ended the relationship, the song talks about how the character feels after finishing with her boyfriend. “Part of Me” took first place in places like Bulgaria, Canada, New Zealand, Scotland, UK and also in her homeland, USA.
Blow Me (One Last Kiss) – Pink
Praised by critics, Blow Me (One Last Kiss) is the first single from the album The Truth About Love by P!nk. The single was ranked first in Australia, Scotland and the USA.
Payphone – Maroon 5 Feat. Wiz Khalifa
First single from the CD Marron 5, the song has participation of Wiz Khalifa. In the first week, the song has sold 493,000 copies in the U.S. beating the record for digital sales of a single group or duo in the first week that previously belonged to the Black Eyed Peas, with 465 000 of “Boom Boom Pow”. Engaging, the music was on top of Canada, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Mexico and even in Scotland. The video was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award for Best Pop Video.
Princess Of China – Coldplay feat. Rihanna
Fourth single from Coldplay album, Mylo Xyloto, was recorded in 2011 and released in February 2012. Initially it was not released as a single but still had great public acceptance by joining a band of British rock and pop diva from Barbados.
Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” – Kelly Clarkson
Making the most successful in the U.S. than elsewhere, Stronger topped the Billboard charts and was nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for the 55th Grammy Awards. Outside the U.S., the music was among the charts but topped only in Belgium, Denmark, Poland and South Korea.
Diamonds – Rihanna
Launched in September, Diamond became the first 3 weeks of December at the top of Billboard (second single from the singer lying on top this year) losing the top for the new single by Bruno Mars.
Xirley – Gaby Amarantos
First single from the successful Treme, the song was released at the awards VMB 2011. Commercially the single was released earlier this year and drew attention for its video quality and storyline relaxed being nominated for Best Video of VMB2012.
Mi Vida Eres Tu – Vanguart
The album “Boa Parte de Mim Vai Embora” was released in 2011 but the band’s music from Cuiaba became successful after the clip release in March this year. The video was for some time in the Top 10 MTV. The song was nominated for Song of the Year at the VMB2012.
Nostalgia – Vivendo do Ócio

Velha e Louca – Mallu Magalhães
