The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio +20, will be held from 13 to 22 June 2012, the city of Rio de Janeiro.
Rio +20 is well known because it marks the twentieth anniversary of implementation of United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (Rio-92) and should help to define the sustainable development agenda for the coming decades.
The aim of the conference is to renew the political commitment to sustainable development and will have two main themes: The green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication, and The institutional framework for sustainable development.

(Mas, o que um site como este tem haver com o Rio +20??Tudo!Independentemente do lugar em que habitamos e do papel que temos na sociedade, temos algo em comum, somos cidadãos do mesmo planeta, e querendo ou não, somos responsáveis pelo seu futuro.E bem, sei que não sou a dona da verdade, e justamente por isso, creio que devo escrever sobre o assunto que me apetece , sobre aquilo em que a minha opinião pode se fazer presente de modo satisfatório : A indústria da moda ( a mais antiga e uma das mais importantes nos dias de hoje ) )Furthermore, the fashion industry is responsible for tons and tons of garbage every year, Over the past 20 years, with increasing speed in the production of garments, and cheapening of the same, the quality of the products decreased from the tissues to the sewing and finishing. As a consequence, the consumer was forced to buy a larger quantity of clothes every season. It is also important to mention that the fashion industry uses other materials in its production, machines, packaging, paper, cardboard boxes, buttons, stickers … And where these clothes will be sent when they are not in condition to be donated? Will be sent, in many cases, to landfills, where they will remain decomposing in a state of decay.(Além disso,a industria da moda é responsável por toneladas e toneladas de lixo todos os anos,Nos últimos 20 anos, com a crescente agilidade na produção de peças de roupa, e o barateamento das mesmas, a qualidade dos produtos diminuiu, desde os tecidos até a costura e o acabamento . Como reflexo, o consumidor foi obrigado a comprar uma quantidade superior de roupas a cada estação.É importante citar também que a industria da moda utiliza de outros materiais em sua produção,nas máquinas, embalagens, papel, caixas de papelão, botões, etiquetas…E pra onde serão enviadas essas roupas quando não estão mais em condição de serem doadas?? Serão enviadas, em muitos casos, para lixões, onde permanecerão se decompondo , em estado de podridão.)
